Featured by professors, visiting scholars and students from countries around the world, the Department of Geographical Sciences (GEOG) is always endeavoring to enhance the exchange of diverse cultures. As visiting scholars from Chinese research institutes and Chinese students compose the major body of our international scientist group, we plan this China-U.S. cultural lecture as a kick-off of our Department cultural programs.
A similar lecture was held on January 30 last year and was highly appreciated by the community. This year, the event will be held on February 19, 2015, which is the Lunar New Year – the most important festival in China and for all Chinese overseas, also celebrated in other counties such as Korea and Vietnam. Visiting scholars and students from various research groups will present on topics of Chinese culture, share the differences in life and work values they have encountered in the U.S., and honor the Lunar New Year. American researchers and students who have visited China will share their experiences as well.
We look forward to seeing you there!
