On May 12th, 2017 undergraduate students Carrie Lewey and Emma Minnis were presented with the Outstanding Undegraduate Teaching Assistant Award for the 2016-2017 academic year. The awards were presented by the professors for which these outstanding students assisted, Dr. Ronald Luna and Dr. Rachel Berndtson, respectively.
Carrie Lewey was chosen for her outstanding contributions as the head teaching assistant for Dr. Ronald Luna's GEOG130: Developing Countries course. Emma Minnis was chosen after multiple semesters of excellent assistance to Dr. Berndtson's GEOG330: Society and Sustainability course.
