Darrell Williams, Adjunct Professor and alumnus received the William T. Pecora Award for Contribution to Remote Sensing at the Pecora 20 Symposium in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.  Throughout his career Dr. Williams has played a critical role in the Landsat Program. 

NASA and the U.S. Geological Survey established the Pecora Symposium series in the 1970's as a platform to "foster the exchange of scientific information and results derived from applications of remotely sensed data to a broad range of land-based resources, and to provide a forum for discussing ideas, policies and strategies concerning land remote sensing."  This year's symposium, Pecora 20, was entitled 'Observing a Changing Earth'.
