The Department of Geographical Sciences worked hand-in-hand with the Geography Club to make 2017 Maryland Day a great success. Members of the Geography Club partnered with Moovit as part of the app's pilot program to work with various universities. About 20 students produced transit paths for the university community during a three-hour map-a-thon on Maryland Day, April 29. The event was filmed by MTV and is set to air within the next few months - stay tuned for the premier date! Special thanks to Shannon Corrigan, Ronald Luna, Amanda Hall, The Geography Club, Kelley O'Neal with the GIS and Geospatial Library, Alexandra Tyukavina, and Dr. Hansen's lab for making the event such a great success.
