Nicholas Romano, a 2nd year MPSGIS student, recently was named as the EDC Student of the Year Award at the University of Maryland. There are about 30 academic institutions around the world recognized as Esri Development Centers (EDCs) and UMD is one of them (represented by the MPSGIS program). This award recoganizes the GIS-related development achievement by students enrolled in EDCs. Every year there is only one student receives this award from each EDC. Nick will represent UMD to continue to compete with student winners from other EDC institutions for the distinguished International EDC Student of the Year Award. Nick is expected to graduate this spring.
