Congratulations to PhD Candidate Rachel Lamb for winning an Outstanding Student Presentation Award (OSPA) from the American Geophysical Union (AGU). OSPAs are awarded to promote, recognize and reward undergraduate, Master’s and PhD students for quality research in the geophysical sciences. Each year, sections recruit judges to assess and score student oral, poster, and eLightning presentations at meetings. Typically the top 2-5% of presenters in each Section are awarded an OSPA.

At the 2020 AGU Annual Meeting, Rachel presented work on the context and future potential for integrating forest carbon into state climate mitigation planning in a special session on Carbon Monitoring Science and Applications. She also presented an update on Campus Forest Carbon project in a session called "Science to Action: Transformative Partnerships and Knowledge Coproduction to Advance Decision-Relevant Science."
