GEOG PhD student, Fernando Rodriguez, was selected as a 2013-2014 International Teaching Fellow by UMD's Center for Teaching Excellence. "The CTE-Graduate School International Teaching Fellows (ITF) program for International Graduate Teaching Assistants (IGTAs) supports IGTAs in their professionalization as university teachers and future faculty. The year long program pairs novice international teachers with a senior international graduate student mentor. International Graduate Teaching Fellows regularly meet with their mentors and as a learning community to discuss undergraduate teaching and learning. International Graduate Teaching Fellows will dedicate approximately 20 hours per semester to the program. International Graduate Teaching Assistants selected to participate in the program will receive a $500 stipend and a CTE certificate upon completion."
