GEOG PhD student Yanjia Cao was selected by the American Association of Geographers (AAG) Health and Medical Geography Specialty Group (HMGSG) to recieve $200 Melinda S. Meade Graduate Student Travel Award to be utilized during travel to the 2016 Annual AAG Meeting in San Francisco. Yanjia will be recognized during the HMGSG business meeting on March 31st.
The HMGSG of the AAG offers support to graduate student special group members who plan to attend and present on a health/medical geography topic at the Annual AAG Meeting. The HMGSG only awards 2 students travel support to AAG based on the quality of their presentation abstracts and candidates' CV, and Yanjia's great work stands out among a large number of strong applicants this year.
