GEOG Lecturer Dr. Ronald Luna was recently selected as an Honored Instructor by UMD's Transfer2Terp Learning Community for making a positive impact on undergraduate education. Indeed, one student commented that "Dr. Luna's course has been my favorite class this semester. His lectures have not only made me aware of some of the issues facing developing countries, but inspired me to look at some of the issues facing my community here in Maryland. The papers and group project assigned to the class urged us to think critically about the countries we have studied and the factors perpetuating poverty in those countries. I am now convinced that geography is a rich and varied field worth a serious exploration."

Dr. Luna will be formally honored in a ceremony at the Stamp Student Union on Friday, December 6th, at 1:30 pm.  Congratulations Dr. Luna, and thank you for your service!
