The Global Land Analysis and Discovery laboratory (UMD GLAD) is hosting an intensive training workshop for participants from the Bangladesh Forest Department on Oct. 2-13, at the River Road research building. The visit is organized in collaboration with the USDA Forest Service International Visitor Program.
The two-week training is focused on forest and trees outside forests (TOF) monitoring at the national scale using publicly available data from the US Earth Observation satellites and open-source software tools. The objective is to enhance the capacity of the Bangladesh Forest Department to perform regular (bi-annual) monitoring and international reporting of forest and TOF area change."
