Independent studies (GEOG398 or GEOG498) are semester-long, individualized academic research projects.  Students work with a faculty supervisor to design and research an original thesis.  Work with renowed faculty on the biggest issues facing our planet today such as poverty, climate change, deforestation, globalization, etc.

Independent Studies Requirements

  • At least 60 semester hours
  • A minimum GPA of 2.5
  • Completed the Geographical Sciences Primary Courses (except GEOG212).
